Snotty noses abound...

It started with John, then quickly spread to me and the babies. Snotty noses everywhere! The babies aren't running fever or feeling badly....I just didn't know that much snot could come out of such a little body!

Here are some new pictures! (Aaron is the "Chick Magnet"; Adam in the stroller with his sister; All three naked before baths; Aaron and Adam together; Aaron and Avery together.)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Shopping for Baby Food

The babies are doing so great! For two nights they have gone to bed around 8:00 and slept until 7:00 AM. They are also taking two 1 1/2-2 hour naps a day; eating fruits, veggies, cereal, and meats; and taking less bottles! They are amazing!

Yesterday was so funny when I went shopping for baby food. I bought two weeks worth of baby food for the babies at Wal-Mart. (I got the food on sale for $.30 less than what I normally pay!) Anyway....I had it all calculated before I got to the store. Two weeks worth of fruit, veggies, and meat equaled 112 containers of baby food! Imagine me standing in the baby food isle dropping 112 containers of food in the basket! And the fruits/veggies were sold in 2-packs, so that was 84 two-packs of fuits/veggies and 28 jars of meat! One lady stopped and asked if I was buying food for a nursery. Yes...my own! :) I also bought two 384-count boxes of wipes, 7 cans of formula, 2 boxes of cereal, and a pack of onesies for Avery.

Here are pictures of the babies I took outside, and also with their Mickey Mouse ears that Miss Chelsea brought home from her weekend trip to Disney World. (You will have to excuse the drool on the babies...it was the end of the day and they are teething!) Aaron is on the right outside and in the light blue outfit.

Lessons of Motherhood...

Lesson #1: Babies don't like it when you change their routine all at one time.
Lesson #2: Many times in motherhood, you have to back up and start again.

Lesson #3: Just when you think you have things figured out, something changes!

If you read my last blog, you know we were trying to adjust the babies' schedule some. Really just move to more food, less bottles, and nap time altogether. Well, I'm happy to say that it's all good now. But, I learned a hard Lesson #1! It's just my mentality...it's time to change some things, so you change. Apparently it's not that easy for babies. So, we slowed down, changed a few things, and all is good now. :) Live and learn!

Today it was so beautiful outside! I laid a quilt out under a tree, and took all three babies outside for about an hour. They loved it! I let them stand in the grass and touch it with their hands. They laid on the quilt and looked at the tree, the birds, and we even heard an occasional airplane. It makes me excited for spring!

In the past few days, I've had 3 different people ask me if having triplets was hard. Hmm....we just don't know any different. As I have said before, our babies are very laid back, patient, and content. We have very little fussing or crying. But, the shear mass of them is challenging. I think about how easy it must be with one baby. You feed one baby cereal, fruit, and a bottle...change one diaper...put on one pair of pajamas....and rock one baby to sleep. Our evenings aren't quite like that...it takes John and I both to get it all done! But, I have to say, I would much rather do it all at one time. I think it would be much more difficult to have one baby, get them sleeping through the night and being independent, and then get pregnant and have to start all over again!

I don't know if many people are still reading the blog. If you are, I hope you are enjoying watching the babies grow. We are SO blessed...Thank you God!! (Avery....Aaron...Adam)

6 months old!

The babies turned 6 months old on Wednesday! Can you believe it?!

Their visit to the pediatrician went very well yesterday (minus the shots....that is so painful for them, me, and Chelsea!) The dr. is so pleased with their growth and progress. They are doing most all developmental things of a full-term 6-month old baby. The boys are in the 10th percentile on the growth chart, and Avery was in the 5th. While that would seem small to most parents, our babies were so far BELOW the growth chart, that this amount of "catch up" is truly a blessing! The babies are absolutely amazing, and God has blessed us so richly!

Here are their weights and lengths:

Aaron--14 lbs. 10 oz; 24 3/4 in long
Avery--13 lbs 5 oz; 24 in
Adam--14lbs 8oz; 25 1/2 in long

Now that they are 6 months old, and doing so well with food, we are moving to 2nd foods and changing their daily schedule a little. It will be more in-line with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then 2-3 bottles per day. They've been napping in the living room, but we are now going to put them back in their room for naps. I know it will be an adjustment at first, but we really need to get them napping at the same time each day. Right now they each have different sleep schedules during the day.

We took 6-month pictures on Wed. I've posted some of them below. We used a different photography studio in Fort Worth this time, and I really wasn't that happy. I found that the staff wasn't extremely "Baby friendly." Also, the photography studio was open into the lobby and the babies were too busy paying attention to the other kids and people. You know from looking at the blog that our babies smile tons....but of course we didn't get one good smile in the pictures! We will definitely be going back to Kiddie Kandids (in Babies R Us) for their 9 month pictures.

I know...it's been two weeks since I updated!

I have started working from 9-2 four days a week, and it seems like I have less time to update! Sorry!! I'm enjoying being back at work on a regular basis, but do miss the babies during the day. (Just like every other working mom!) I'm a REALTOR at Century21 in Glen Rose. Check out The Power Team's website at www.glenrosepowerteam.com. Let me know if you have any real estate needs! I can search for properties in most of Texas or can refer you to another agent in your area. OK....enough about me and my shameless sales pitch!!!

The babies are changing so quickly! They will be 6 months old next week! Chelsea and I are taking them Wed. for their 6-month pictures, and then to the dr Thursday for their 6-month visit and shots. I will let you know how much weight they have gained!

Adam has now rolled over from his tummy to back---Aaron has mastered blowing raspberries---Avery is "walking" while you hold her hands. (You have to turn her right-left, but she moves her legs!) They are sleeping well too. We had two nights this week where they all slept until 6. But, each night is different....last night Aaron and Avery both wanted to be fed at 3.

Nurse Brandy came to visit last Friday, as well as the Garrisons. Wednesday Karla S. came by with her boys. It sure is fun for me to get to show off the babies! My aunt and uncle are coming down tonight. We love visitors!

Here are some updated pictures: (The babies with Nurse Brandy....Adam on the right with his brother...Avery with Aunt Julie--our amazing next door neighbor)

Avery's Debut on You Tube

Here is the video link for Avery's first laughs! You can barely hear her over me!!!

Growing and changing

The babies spent the first night in their own room and in their own cribs last night! It went pretty smoothly. Each still woke up once during the night, but they did sleep later this morning. I know it will be an adjustment, but they are just getting too big to all be in one crib! Avery was rolling over on top of Adam, and Aaron was getting squished into the bumper pad!

Avery can roll over from her front or back now. Yesterday she was rolling like a log across her quilt. It was funny. She can also stand up with her just holding your fingers. I bet she will be trying to crawl in a month.

The boys are just now starting to want to roll over. You can see it in their eyes, but they just can't make their little bodies cooperate yet!

Aaron and Avery have both laughed out loud. Aaron's laugh comes from the gut, and is absolutely hilarious! The video is on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCEpbr9FfD8.
That kid is a talker...he is always singing or making noises. Sometimes he and Avery get into a match to see who can make the most noise! Meanwhile...Adam just sits back and watches. He talks too, but it is much softer.

All the babies enjoy eating their cereal, and are loving their vegetables. Carrots and squash seem to be the group favorites. In a few more days I'm going to introduce green beans....can't wait to see the looks I get!

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!
