The Gang's all Here!

This weekend my whole family was here! My brother lives in Illinois, and he also came down with his son. It was the first time all of my mom's children and grandchildren were in the same place. It was cool! Here is the picture of all of us:

Joni (my sister) with her kids Tyler (19) and Jake (14)
James (brother) with Jayden (4)
And me with the babies!

Aaron is our "affectionate" child. He likes to hug and squeeze so much! I think I told you that he tackles Avery every time she crawls by him. He has also tackled Adam on more than one occasion. Now, when I say "tackle" I truly mean "TACKLE." Well, what a change today when Chelsea got this picture of Adam tackling Aaron instead! She said it was hilarious!

Also, Avery "cruising" around their play area, windowsill, or anything else she can hold on to and walk. Here is a picture of her in action today.

First trip to the Grocery Store

The babies will be 10 months old on Friday, so I figured it was well past time for them to go to the grocery store! I took them by myself, and it actually went great. Avery rode in the top and the boys sat on a blanket in the basket. We went through the store, picked up a few things, and then came home. I almost felt like a normal mom!

Kids Amaze Me!

One day they can't do something, and then the next day they can! When I taught 1st grade I was always amazed at how a child would go home on Friday, not really being able to read, and then come back on Monday reading sentences. Something just clicks, and there they go!

Avery has been attempting to crawl for a few weeks, but she took off last Wednesday. And trust me, there is no stopping that child! Not only is she crawling well, but she started pulling up on Friday. Now she pulls up on everything, and bonks her head alot too. John has already lowered her bed.

Aaron and Adam haven't really been interested in picking food up off their trays and eating it. They seemed content to eat baby food. Well, that has changed too! They don't want you to spoon feed them (unless it is fruit or yogurt), and they are very opinionated about what they eat. Avery will eat anything you put on her tray. Aaron and Adam will fuss and whine if you give them something they don't like---and of course they will spit it out. It is so funny to watch! (And frustrating too!)

The boys are rocking on their hands/knees and really seem to be watching Avery as she crawls by them. I think it won't be long for them.

Aaron has been cracking us up! John has always referred to Aaron as his little linebacker because Aaron has a fiesty streak. One night he was standing up holding on to John's fingers when he just hunched over, squeezed John's fingers, and started growling! Now, if his brother or sister are close in proximity, he will reach out and tackle them and lay on top of them! I know he thinks he is giving "hugs" but it looks like a form tackle to us! John is so proud!!

Adam remains the thinker. He does "talk" more now, but he is really quiet compared with the other two. Adam has the sweetest little smile! He requires a lot less sleep than the other two...you can count on him talking in his bed every morning around 5:45, and his is always the first up from nap. I love Adam's gentleness! He is so neat...

All three are so amazing and SO very different from each other. They love watching and "talking" to each other...it is very cute!

9 month pictures

We finally made it to get pictures! The one with me and the babies didn't turn out well, but I posted it anyway. (I was laughing!)

Adam is wearing the orange shirt, and orange striped shirt.

Aren't they cute???

Our First Road Trip!!

We did it...we made a road trip! All five of us loaded up Friday morning and went to Midland to spend the weekend with Jeff, Sonja, and Reagan for Sonja's baby shower. The babies did so good! On the way out, there was about 5 minutes of crying from Adam, and then on the way home the last 20 mintues got a little crazy. But, isn't that great? After all, it was an eight-hour round trip!

The babies got to go to Jeff's cousin's birthday party for about an hour Friday night, and then we went to Sonja's shower on Saturday. Of course they played with Reagan and anyone that would hold them! They didn't nap much the whole weekend, but slept well at night. Luckily, they each had their own bed--Sonja had the crib already prepared for her baby, a Pack and Play, and we took a Pack and Play too. It was quite the adventure!

Avery crawled a little!! She put one hand in front of the other for 3 movements! We are so proud! Now Aaron is rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. It's about to get crazy around here!!
