9 Months Old!

The babies turned 9 months old last Wednesday! Geez...it's going by so fast!

Their 9 month visit went well. Here are their weights and heights:

Aaron: 17 lbs. 13 oz--27 1/2 in long
Adam: (The same as brother!) 17 lbs. 13 oz.--27 1/2 in long
Avery: 16 lbs 3 oz.--26 1/2 in long
All three babies have been snotty all week. We were supposed to take pictures on Wednesday and go to the NICU reunion today, but they just weren't up to it. They are taking allergy medicine, and are getting better.

Adam and Aaron have teeth! Aaron has three that have cut through and Adam has 5 that are cutting through. No wonder he was fussy last week!

Avery has been eating more and more table food. I have been putting small bites on her tray, and she can pick them up and eat them. Well...actually about 60% gets into her mouth, but she is getting better! Adam will eat table food if you put it in his mouth, and Aaron isn't ready for that yet. To make life easier, I have been making their baby food for about 2 weeks. I just prepare fruits/veg and puree them. (For Avery I just set some aside before I puree.) They all still eat Gerber 3rd food meats. I haven't figured out how to do that yet!

When we get their 9 month pictures done I will be sure to post them. Here are some other snapshots we have taken recently.

Adam and Avery on YouTube

Hi! We caught Adam and Avery on video today laughing at John. Adam's laugh is more subtle, but Avery is belly laughing! I posted it on YouTube at the following link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d79lV_SCRF0

The quality isn't great. I recorded it with our camcorder but am not savy enough to know how to get it to the computer. (I did read the manual, but apparently we don't have the software to convert it? Beats me!!) SO...I used the digital camera to copy the video.

The babies are doing great! Adam and Aaron both cut their first tooth today! They are also both about to cut their top 2 front teeth. Needless to say, they have been a little fussy. Avery is still rocking on her hands and knees, but today she actually scooted forward! It won't be much longer.

Here is a great picture of Aaron in John's cowboy hat. Don't you love those eyes?

Nurse Brandy came to visit today, but we forgot to take a picture of them with her! Next weekend we will be attending the NICU reunion at Cook's. We are so excited because Nurses Brandy, Shayla, and Kim will all be there! We haven't seen Miss Shayla since we left the hospital, so we are very excited! There are also many other great nurses and doctors that we will get to see, but those three ladies are extra special to us!

Here is Avery with Miss Chelsea!

Things are changing!

Wow...the babies have made lots of changes since last week! Avery got her 2nd tooth about two days after the first one came in. The boys have been running a low grade fever and really chewing on everything, so I feel like it won't be much longer for them.

Avery is rocking back and forth while on her hands and knees. Adam barrel rolls everywhere, and Aaron is starting to pivot on his stomach. I already rearranged the dining room so that it is completely their area. We have a big "pen" around it so they won't be able to escape. (At least not yet!) John and I laugh about the days when we could put all three on the couch in their Boppy pillows and they would never move! :)

All three have become camera hogs....just like mom! Whenever you put the camera in front of them, you get the biggest smiles! Here are three examples...

Avery has also been eating table food for the past two days. I've been supplementing with baby food, but she has eaten macaroni and cheese, peas, green beans, peaches, and Granny Lori's Stronganoff (minus the meat). She is really doing well. The boys have just now started grabbing "Puffs" off of their trays, so I will start introducing more foods to them as well. It takes longer for Avery to finish table food than baby food...I know because it is new. So, if I can get her comfortable with that, it will be easier to start on the boys.

Here are some more pictures to enjoy! The boys have on their Texas Rangers bibs...John bought them new Ranger's outfits yesterday. Avery has a pink Ranger's bib too, but the picture didn't turn out well. The little girl with Avery is our next door neighbor. Hope all is well in your world!

Avery has a tooth!

Avery's first tooth broke through this last week! It is really starting to peak through...it is so cute! The boys are chewing like crazy, but no teeth yet!

We got the babies a new toy on Saturday. They love to jump, so it is a stationary horse that they sit in and bounce. It makes horse noises and music....they all love it!

Also, Avery learned a new trick....she smiles as soon as you point the camera at her. Apparently she is just like her mom!

Here is also a picture of the babies in their red wagon...the boys sit on the seats on the end, and Avery sits in the middle.

March of Dimes Walk

The March of Dimes has been conducting research for the health of babies for many years. Lots of the new, innovative things that were done while the babies were in the NICU was the direct result of the March of Dimes.

Shayla R. took care of the babies every Thursday-Saturday night while they were in the hospital. She was the babies' main night nurse, just like Nurse Brandy was for the daytime. Shayla is participating in a March of Dimes walk in April, and she asked if she could post a picture of her and Avery on her walk homepage! The link to Shayla's website is:

http://www.marchforbabies.org/shayshayrum

If you are able to donate, I know Shayla would greatly appreciate it! She is a wonderful person and nurse. Also, all of the money raised goes to the March of Dimes as they continue to look for new ways to help infants. To put it all in perspective: Did you know that President Kennedy had a premature baby that died? The baby was about 4 pounds at birth and had lung distress. He only lived for two days. So, in 1967 a baby couldn't be saved, yet lung distress is a common problem for preemies, and one that is easily overcome.

8 Months Old and Happy Easter!

The babies turned 8 months old today!

We had a great day at home. John bought them tons of stuff for Easter baskets (some of it at the Relay for Life basket auction at work). This morning while I napped, he put all the baskets together and got them ready for the babies. He's such a good Daddy!

Each baby got a metal basket with eggs stuffed with money for their savings accounts and various candies (which we ate!). The boys got a fishing pole, tackle box, lounge chair, and a basketball goal. Avery got two stuffed animals, several items that make noise, teethers, a stroller and feather boa for dress up (all that she will use much later!)

We hope that you had a Blessed Easter Holiday!
